REMEMBER YOURSELF THERE.

Growing up we owned a horse called ‘Fleur Petite’ which meant ‘Little flower’. After school I’d go out to the front paddock where she was, put on her reins and jump on. Her and I had this little game, where we’d trot down to the end of the paddock and as soon as I turned her towards the house, she’d take off and we’d gallop back. We repeated this over and over again and I still remember the feeling, the speed and how good it felt, a good dose of wild freedom.

As life continued on, things change and you find yourself in different places, experiencing different things and that part stopped somewhere. Yet every time I see horses in the paddock I always find myself smiling.
Many years later, after having all the kids, I’d go for a run and there was a paddock with a few, a place I’d always stop to ‘Smell the horses’ …yes, as some stop to smell the roses, I stop to smell the horses – always shooting me back to those memories.

As of late remembering that time with Fleur has been coming back strong. Although I don’t own a piece of land or a horse, I’m doing the best with what I can for now. Horse treks & visiting places with them. The other day I found a place who offer beach rides.

I share this with you because often life takes different turns at times and we don’t know when, where or even how, but we can find the very things we love and enjoyed just stop. We stop and choose something else instead of that thing.

And so let yourself ‘Remember’
Remember those…people, places, things, where you felt truly connected to yourself, in a way that can at times be unexplainable, that just felt good in your heart, moments that can be felt in your bones, even now just at the thought of it.

When we let ourselves remember, we can then see how we can bring a part of that back into our lives, into our future moving forward in some way. It won’t ever be the same, it will be different, we just have to let ourselves see how else can it be.

When did you feel more connected to the truth of who you are.
What were you doing? Who were you with? Where were you?
What was it about that thing that made it different than anything else you’ve experienced.
How can you let yourself experience it again.

Let yourself remember.
