Her avoidance is like a suit of armour, everything strapped in tight so nothing, no one can touch it, see it, enjoy it.
Here’s the thing about the avoider,
Everything she deeply desires is the very things she avoids.
If only she realised that the moment she let herself see it, face it,
Would be the moment that her grip could loosen,
Would be the moment she allowed herself to embrace the joy of who she is.
Avoidance thinks something will be taken from her, like she will loose a sense of herself, loose control on her life and have to fight to gain it back again.
Avoidance has worked so hard to protect herself.
Avoidance thinks if she softens, let’s anything get too close that it’s sure to break her.
Avoidance throws judgement & blame, because it’s easier that way.
Avoidance thinks it’s best to sit in the land of mystery, putting others to the test to see if they can break down those walls, yet never allowing them to succeed.
Underneath avoidance she knows what’s there, she feels it, she knows all she has to give,
She dreams about been on the other side, to enjoy all she wants to enjoy, she imagines it often.
Yet Avoidance keeps her safe, because avoidance tells her it’s safer here.
Avoidance has a lock on her purse string,
A lock on her heart,
A lock on her goals,
A lock on her joy.
Oh Avoider, if only you could see what I see,
Because it’s so obvious to everyone…but you.
The potential you hold, is like no other,
Your natural skills & talent scream so loud, yet you question it.
Those little moments when your guard has been unknowingly lowered, that energy you hold, that charisma you carry, would light up a whole room & everyone in it.
Let yourself stand face to face with what you’re avoiding,
Lean into it, let that armour break away piece by piece,
Let yourself feel what’s it’s like to have what you deeply want for yourself,
Take your time, but let every step into it, liberate you.
Once you see what you’ve been avoiding, you’re going to wish you step sooner.
What you’re avoiding, is the very thing that will propel you forward.
Step into it…it’s safe there.
