I’d like you to meet my eldest daughter, Summa.
She just turned 19 at the end of December and I always wanted a portrait of her at 18, so with only a week or so to go, we spent a morning in the studio.
This girl is the reason I started photography…she was my drive and still is, along with her brothers & sister.
She is headstrong and tells you how it is, there’s no fluffing around with this girl.
She is creative, talented and thrives in the outdoors – nature is good for her.
Friendship means a lot to her, she makes friends wherever she goes and is very loyal to each of them.
She gets to know people on her own and is not swayed by what others think & say.
We have many conversations together about life, relationships, personalities and so much more.
She is very open and shares many things with me, sometimes I tell her I don’t need to know everything, but that’s just her 🙂
It was just the two of us for so long, that we built a close relationship with each other and we enjoy each other’s company.
When she was growing up, she would sing and dance her way through the house – something I’m looking forward to seeing again one day.
When she smiles, she lights up the room
When you ask for her opinion, she will tell you the truth.
To me she is beautiful, inside and out, and I love her to the moon and back.
I would not be the person I am today without having this girl in my life.
She makes me laugh, makes me mad, drives me crazy & makes me appreciate life.
Time passes by so quickly, I can’t believe it’s been 19 years
And just like every mum can say – it only feels like yesterday that you were born.
