Can you make my arms smaller,
Can you whiten my teeth,
Can you pull my tummy in,
Can you remove my scar
Can you take away the bags under my eyes,
Can you make me thinner,
Can you give me more curves,
Can you make my bum smaller,
Can you change the way I look – just slightly!
Yes,
Yes I can,
But I really don’t want to.
I use photoshop to edit my work,
The contrast, the skin colour and yes to make adjustments for my clients.
But only when they request it.
I always show them their portraits as I see them and how I wish for them to see themselves.
When I first started photographing women 4 years ago, the amazing photographer I’ve learnt from did edit her clients bodies a little prior to them seeing their images and I began doing the same. However something just didn’t sit right with me when doing so.
Every time I did, I felt guilty & I felt like I was judging them.
So I stopped.
I wanted to show my clients a portrait of themselves that they love, yes.
But one that didn’t alter their body shape.
I will be honest with you.
I do use one filter that slightly smooths your skin.
It’s something that I have been pulling more and more away from.
So today I’ve made the decision to stop using it.
I want to photograph you, because you are ready to acceptance who you see looking back at you.
I want to photograph you, because you want to celebrate who you are and all you have been through.
I don’t want you to have a portrait of you that is not really you.
I want you to own a portrait of you that is 100% your beautiful, amazing self.
I will pose you, yes.
I will make you feel and look amazing with what you have right now.
Here is another before and after of the beautiful Amanda.
No filters, No adjustments
Just 100% natural beauty in both images.
