Those moments you get to yourself, just you and no one else around.
Maybe you’re out for a walk, driving in the car and you’re in contemplation mode.
Looking at where you are in your life,
Who you are, who you’re being,
And then you feel this sensation within you that says…
‘Ok, no more…from now on…’ and you complete the sentence.
Sometimes with just one statement…one thing you’re ready to focus on, make a change on.
Other times you rattle of something from nearly every area of your life.
Things are going to change, they need to change.
I’m going to stop, this, that and the other.
I’m going to do this, that and the other.
You feel the certainty in you, you feel this time is different.
BUT THEN!…the pull back set’s in.
It sets in when you’re back in the company of those who know you as one way.
Those who you may feel won’t support, believe in the new way you wish to see & live.
It sets in when you start to doubt yourself and think ‘who am I too’
Who am I to be different, who am I to be the change around me, who am I to challenge the so called norm.
It sets in when the rest of life is calling for your attention also, parts of life that you can’t ignore because they’re required in your world, a part of every day life and you wonder if you will have the time & energy to hold yourself in a new space.
I want to remind you that…those times when it’s just you, by yourself and those firm words speak to you of you wanting more for yourself – That is your truth.
You are your most honest self when you are alone in your own company.
So anytime you wish to hear your truth… spend time alone & listen in.
Then anytime you feel yourself begin to ‘Pull Back’ the only person you need to challenge is yourself…no one else. No one else is stopping you – you are.
Stop overloading yourself with change in every nook & cranny of your life and just pick one or two thing to focus on to steer yourself in the new direction. Start clearing something each day, one messy draw, one conversation to be had, one email to answer, one time slot in your day for you.
Then, those promises you make for yourself and you feel yourself giving up for the old ways, it’s in that moment you need to challenge yourself…You need to give yourself the push to do what you say you would, be the person you said you would be.
If you don’t follow through – forgive yourself, tune in to witness how it makes you feel & try again…you’re building a new muscle & it can take practice, be kind on yourself, but keep going.
If you follow through – celebrate yourself, tune in to witness how you feel & know this is the new way you get to experience life from now on each time you keep a promise to yourself.
We all have these moments of “Ok, no more…from now on…”
Be the one who follows through for yourself,
For your future,
For the generations who follow.
Life is still here with you…make it count.
