A FEW KEY MESSAGES FOR YOU…

A few key messages for you tonight!

– Question all you’ve ever been told about yourself
– Be free to brag about what you’re good at or done that’s good
– Set the scene & start your own traditions.

Tonight I started a new tradition.
That was to cook a delicious meal after decorating the Christmas tree with the kids.

For years I spoke the words ‘I hate cooking, I’m not a good cook’
For years I was told I wasn’t a good cook & I believed it.
I come from a line of great cooks in my family & felt a little bummed I didn’t make the cut…
But it turns out, I’m pretty good after all.
Not only am I a good cook, it’s a time I enjoy. I’ve made it a little ritual.
Music on while I dance & cook up a storm.

Over the last couple of years I’ve been finding my love of cooking (ok not every single night due to the fullness life can bring with a family) but I’m loving trying different recipes.
On the weekend I brought a new cook book that caught my eye & spoke to me….
So tonight my friends, we are having ‘Creamy Lemon Chicken’

So, any time anyone has said something that’s negative, not encouraging, supportive or solution focused towards you – Question it…you will know in your heart if it’s their protection or truth. Remember one time doesn’t make you bad at it for the rest of your life.

Years ago when it was just my daughter Summa and I, we brought an 8 seater table and every night we would sit down for dinner, just the two of us at this large table.
I would picture that table being full (I always wanted 6 kids).
I was born to have community around me.
That table is now filled with my kids & grandkids and when they’re not here then it’s filled with friends. Filling the table with good souls & food is one of my all time favourite things in the world. It makes my soul very happy.

Make sure you fill your table with those who appreciate being there and the food that’s been served…if they don’t, pull the chair out and let them find another table to sit at unless they’re willing to come to the table with a more connected attitude with gratitude.

My kids are free to let me know if they don’t like something, but I have a strong rule of no disrespecting the food that is being shared or the one who has cooked for you.
(tonight was a success 2 out of 3 kids enjoyed the meal haha)

Had I continued to listen to that belief of not being a good cook, had I not allowed myself to explore more of myself…I would have never enjoyed so many great meals with great people, or started this tradition tonight.

And like I said before, be free to brag for what you’re good at.
We’ve been taught not to brag and so a lot of our connections have been based on the negative, the not so good, the pull downs of life, to shrink ourselves a little…time to flick the switch on that and celebrate what you’re good at, own the shit out of it and then allow others to own their goodness & share it with you.

Hey…why not start now.
Feel free to share in the comments what you rock at
