Welcome to ‘I love…Mondays’

I have heard + read so many articles about being grateful for the things in your life. Finding gratitude in the smallest of things. I decided to see what it’s all about and to see if it works so I started a gratitude journal.  To be honest, I have found this to be quiet hard at times… firstly, to remember to write in my journal each night, so now I carry it around in my handbag and if I think of something, I enter it in straight away. Secondly, some days it is hard to be grateful when things don’t feel like they are going well – like the other day.  It was a day where things weren’t panning out and my kids were pushing every button possible… but after the kids were in bed, I ran a bath and wrote in my journal and was amazed at what I came up with – even on a bad day.

Being grateful is meant to change your way of thinking, change how you deal with situations and to appreciate the smallest of things, things we usually take for granted.  It is meant to change your world…

I must say, even though it is early day’s for me and my gratitude journal, it has made me appreciate things I usually would not have thought about and I do find my moods lean towards the good side when I think of all the things I am grateful for – so hey not to bad after all aye.

So I thought I would start up ‘I love… Mondays’ to share the things I am grateful for.

Why Monday’s… well because Monday is one of my favourite days of the week – I know, probably the very few on this earth, but for me, Monday’s mean I have the whole week to look forward to, to do all the things I have planned and well isn’t it good to start the week with what ‘I love…’  I think so…

I would love to hear what you are all grateful for, so feel free to join me on Mondays and tell me what you love.

If you want to join me on the gratitude ride, here are a few cool ways you could document it.

  •    Capture your gratifulness through photography, check out how Hailey Bartholomew did it 365 Grateful Project
  •    Buy a cool journal to document those special things. You could try journals from Zany.co.nz
  •    With Christmas in only 2.5 weeks, why not create a gratitude tree
  •    Break out your creativeness and draw your little heart out
  •    If your into jewellery, make a gratitude neckless or braclet.  Everyday add a new bead, hey you could even have it engraved with what you are grateful for.
